Solar PV Systems
A Solar PV System Installation for your home or business delivers both sustainable choices for your energy needs and makes an attractive investment in its own right.
There has never been a better time to invest in solar panels, here are just a few of the main benefits:
- Save money on your household bills or the heating costs of your premises
- Get paid for generating your own solar energy in the form of electricity
- Live more sustainably – be ‘more green’
- Protect yourself against ever-increasing energy costs

Solar Thermal
It’s possible to produce between 50% and 70% of your home’s hot water supplies (for both central heating and cleaning requirements) using a solar thermal system – but did you know that you can also use the same green technology for heating a swimming pool?
Heating water for use in a commercial or industrial plant can be done in an environmentally friendly way too through the use of a Solar Thermal Installation – call us now on 0844 800 3454 (local rate) for more information.
Heat Pumps – Air Source and Ground Source
As the cost of heating homes and hot water systems continues to increase, more and more people are contacting us about two of our other Green Technologies:
Often used as ‘low level’ or supplementary heating sources for properties that may not be connected to the gas mains supply, Heat Pumps can be a very efficient way to heat rooms that struggle to reach a comfortable temperature when the conventional heating is switched on. Significant cost savings can be achieved, especially when a Heat Pump Installation is carried out at the same time as making improvements to a property’s insulation.
Biomass Boiler Systems
Instead of using traditional fossil fuels such as oil or gas, your central heating boiler could be part of a much more efficient and environmentally friendly biomass system.
A relatively simple concept, a Biomass Boiler uses wood pellets or similar ‘biomass’ as a fuel and uses modern technology to monitor its own efficiency and make minor adjustments to the combustion process in order to get the maximum amount of heat produced from the minimum amount of raw material – please telephone us now on 0844 800 3454 (local rate) for more information.
MG Renewables is a specialist company dedicated to the renewable energy sector and strives to deliver sustainable energy saving systems. We offer a complete design, supply and installation service for solar photovoltaic (PV) panels, solar thermal installations, ground & air source heat pumps and bio-mass heating systems.
We are an MCS (Micro generation Certification Scheme) accredited company with two UK offices (Nottingham & Perth) and pride ourselves on delivering a highly professional, top class service.
In March 2011, the UK Government announced the details of their Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI).
The Renewable Heat Incentive is designed to provide financial support that encourages individuals, communities and businesses to switch from using fossil fuel for heating, to renewables such as solar thermal, ground Source, air Source and wood fuel.
The Renewable Heat Premium Payment scheme has now been announced and you can now make an application to the government for a grant.
The much-publicised FIT (Feed-in Tariff) scheme is a government ‘cash back’ offer of subsidies for green technology and aims to encourage take up of renewable energy in the UK. Payments are made by the power supplier to the customer for all units generated.
You can currently earn 21p for every unit (or kWh) of electricity you produce. This cash back scheme is tax free, inflation proof and lasts for 25 years from the date of your installation. Your solar PV panels could be supplying you with 50% of your electricity for free. Any surplus generated will be sold back to the grid at 3.1 kWh.
