House with renewable energy systems for hot water and central heating

Dedicated to making renewable energy available to households and businesses all over the UK, MG Renewables is a specialist company striving to deliver sustainable energy saving systems. We provide a complete design, supply and installation service for Solar photovoltaic (PV), Solar thermal, ground and air source heat pumps and bio-mass heating systems.

As an MCS (Micro generation Certification Scheme) accredited company with two offices (Nottingham & Perth), we pride ourselves on delivering a highly professional, top class service. Our in-house skills and expertise encompass all aspects of project delivery from:

Feasibility Study, Design, Procurement, Construction, After Sales Service

In a recent independent survey undertaken by IWA we received a 99% satisfaction score from our customers for service provided. Further feedback on the YouGen website has seen us receive a five star maximum rating for the work that we have undertaken in the domestic sector.

To highlight our commercial credentials MG Renewables installed a sizeable Solar Thermal system on 11 accommodation blocks at the Nottingham Trent University’s new Clifton Campus development in 2011. At the time of installation this was the largest solar thermal project in the UK. Check out our commercial credentials at www.mgrenewables.com/commercial_projects.html

MG Renewables has been at the forefront of renewable energy since 2006. Working with MG means that you will only have one company to deal with throughout the development process.

Solar PV Systems

A Solar PV System Installation for your home or business delivers both sustainable choices for your energy needs and makes an attractive investment in its own right.

There has never been a better time to invest in solar panels, here are just a few of the main benefits:

Solar PV Installation

  • Save money on your household bills or the heating costs of your premises
  • Get paid for generating your own solar energy in the form of electricity
  • Live more sustainably – be ‘more green’
  • Protect yourself against ever-increasing energy costs

Please Read More Detail on our page for Solar Panel Installations or contact us for free, no obligation advice.

Solar Thermal

Solar Thermal Installation

It’s possible to produce between 50% and 70% of your home’s hot water supplies (for both central heating and cleaning requirements) using a solar thermal system – but did you know that you can also use the same green technology for heating a swimming pool?

Heating water for use in a commercial or industrial plant can be done in an environmentally friendly way too through the use of a Solar Thermal Installation.

Heat Pumps – Air Source and Ground Source

Air Source Heat Pump installed by MG Renewables

As the cost of heating homes and hot water systems continues to increase, more and more people are contacting us about two of our other Green Technologies:

Often used as ‘low level’ or supplementary heating sources for properties that may not be connected to the gas mains supply, Heat Pumps can be a very efficient way to heat rooms that struggle to reach a comfortable temperature when the conventional heating is switched on. Significant cost savings can be achieved, especially when a Heat Pump Installation is carried out at the same time as making improvements to a property’s insulation.

Biomass Boiler

Biomass Boiler Systems

Instead of using traditional fossil fuels such as oil or gas, your central heating boiler could be part of a much more efficient and environmentally friendly biomass system.

A relatively simple concept, a Biomass Boiler uses wood pellets or similar ‘biomass’ as a fuel and uses modern technology to monitor its own efficiency and make minor adjustments to the combustion process in order to get the maximum amount of heat produced from the minimum amount of raw material. MG Renewables also repair and service bio-mass boilers.

Dedicated to making renewable energy available to consumers and businesses all over the UK, MG Renewables is a specialist company striving to deliver sustainable energy saving systems. We provide a complete design, supply and installation service for solar photovoltaic (PV) panels, solar thermal installations, ground / air source heat pumps and bio-mass heating systems.

We are an MCS (Micro generation Certification Scheme) accredited company with two UK offices (Nottingham & Perth) and pride ourselves on delivering a highly professional, top class service.

We have undertaken hundreds of installations throughout Perthshire, central Scotland and the Midlands of England – including Nottingham, Derby, Mansfield, Leicester, Birmingham, Coventry, Loughborough, Stoke, Sheffield, Rotherham and Peterborough. The Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) was introduced by the government in the early part of 2011. This scheme provides financial support for any individual consumer, business or community group to encourage the use of renewable technology.

The government in the UK is committed to promote a general move away from using the earth’s depleting supplies of traditional fossil fuels for the purpose of heating buildings and water. The aim is for renewable technologies (such as solar power, solar thermal, ground source, air source and wood / biomass fuel) to be used instead.

At MG Renewables we can provide advice and detailed assistance if you would like to apply for a grant under the RHI, with these attractive incentives known as Renewable Heat Premium Payments.

Latest Update (click here) about the RHI

The ‘FIT’ is one of the most discussed government schemes in recent years, publicised in all of the major daily national newspapers, online and through other mainstream media (with ‘FIT’ being short for ‘Feed-in Tariff’ – an incredibly attractive incentive).

The current rate of ‘cash back’ that can be earned for each unit of electricity that your solar panels – or other approved renewable energy source – produces is up to 15.5p per kWh (kilowatt hour, the universally used measurement for units of electricity).

The government subsidies for green technology have often proved to be controversial, because the actual rate offered has changed several times since the FIT was introduced in the UK. However the payments remain a very important driving force in the renewable energy market, and are made during the first 20 years after an installation.

The power supplier pays the customer for all of the units of electricity generated. Units that are used by the household or building where the technology is installed qualify for a 16p per kWh produced and units that are surplus and returned to the National Grid electricity supply qualify for a rate of 4.5p per kWh (a new higher rate as of summer 2012).
